Everyday in Bangladesh, millions of women spend hours a day just fetching water. Most of us are lucky enough to have access to water right at home.
So Brighter Dawns invites you to run, or walk, for water, Saturday, April 14th at 11AM, in Middletown, Connecticut at Long Lane Farm located at the intersection of Long Lane and Wadsworth St. Show your support for those who do have to walk for water! We welcome everyone’s participation, regardless of age or fitness level. For Wesleyan Students, Office of Community Service vans will be leaving from outside Usdan from 10:15 to 11:00 AM to take you to Long Lane.

We will be running the Wes Fuhrman ’05 Trail. The course is normally used by Wesleyan’s cross country team. It runs through fields, wooded trails and a small creek. The course has long gradual hills with one major hill. Participants will begin on an upper field and complete a loop of the field before heading in the woods, proceeding across a creek towards a back field loop. After completing the back field loop, the runners return to the woods before finishing a final loop on the upper field.

We will be selling T-shirts for $10 at the event along with refreshments.

All proceeds go directly to our project in the slum Ward 12 in Khalishpur, Bangladesh where we are working to expand our project and build more wells and latrines. This will also contribute towards continuing sanitation education in the slums.
